What an amazing journey awaits us!!! Have your cameras ready!!!

We leave from Naxos town on The Islanders van and start our road trip by visiting the Ancient Temple of Dimitra in the area of Gyroulas. The  temple was built around 530 BC and is one of the earliest Ionic temples. It was built completely out of Naxian marble and is characterized by its many unusual features. Can your lens spot them?

Next, Chalki, here we come!!! Halki was the capital and also the social, economic, religious and generally cultural center of Naxos Island. Picturesque streets and squares, neoclassical houses, flowery balconies, various shops, orchards and olive groves compose the landscape of a beautiful painting…and photograph! We will visit the impressive church of Panagia Protothroni, a building of the 6th century and the 17th century Barozzi Tower. Last but not least…the mansion of the Villindra Kitron distillery where the famous Kitron liqueur is produced.                Want a taste?

We continue our road trip to the next destination, Ano Potamia. Arriving at Potamia village, we will take a walk in a little paradise. Get your camera ready!!! Many trails, traditional stone bridges, ponds with ducks and waterfalls. And for closure, lunch time, in an idyllic setting, next to a water spring, the Pighi Tavern!
